Colombian superstars Shakira and Maluma have released their first collaboration in eight years, a merengue-inspired single called "AGUA."

Shakira and Maluma have reunited on “AGUA,” their first collaboration in eight years. The new song finds the two Colombian stars embracing classical merengue rhythms, trading vocals over tropical percussion.

“AGUA” marks the fourth official collaboration between Shakira and Maluma and their first since 2018’s “Clandestino.” The Colombian stars first teamed up on the 2016 hit “Chantaje,” which spent 11 nonconsecutive weeks atop Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and reached No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. They reunited for “Trap” on Shakira’s 2017 album El Dorado before releasing “Clandestino” the following year.

The single arrives as Shakira prepares to begin the final stretch of her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour,” with a 12-show Madrid residency beginning September 18th.
