Katseye performed “Animal” and “Hootie Frutti” on Saturday Night Live, with four of the six-member group on stage. Members Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza were absent due to hiatus.
Both songs appear on the group’s EP Wild, released in August, which also includes “Pinky Up,” “Bel Air,” and “That Way.”
Katseye formed two years ago through the talent competition show Dream Academy. The group previously appeared at Coachella in April and the American Music Awards in May.
The group is currently on their 31-show Wildworld Tour, which began in Europe earlier in September. Upcoming North American dates include stops on the East Coast starting in Miami, moving through Canada, and concluding in Mexico City in late November.
Bannerman and Laforteza cited mental health reasons for their hiatus. Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Child recently advised the group to “listen to themselves, be kind to themselves, and continue supporting one another,” emphasizing the importance of rest and recovery during touring.
