Holly Humberstone canceled the remainder of her European tour after a member of her touring party suffered a serious, life-threatening medical emergency on Sunday, September 20, as her tour bus arrived in Cologne, Germany. The individual was taken to hospital and is now stable.
“A member of our touring party suffered a serious, life threatening medical emergency yesterday morning on the bus as we arrived into Cologne,” Humberstone wrote on social media. “We responded and got them to a hospital quickly, and thankfully they are now stable and doing ok in the hospital.”
The canceled dates were scheduled for Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Hamburg and Berlin. Humberstone said continuing the tour without the crew member “wouldn’t feel right” and that the show would not be of the same quality with a core team member absent.
“We are a family, and it wouldn’t feel right to continue without them whilst they take the time to recover,” she wrote. “I have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the EU tour and reschedule it to a time when we can all come back, together, and deliver the show we promised.”
Humberstone acknowledged the disruption for fans who had already made travel plans. “I know this tour has been tough on the fans, and I’m deeply sorry to anyone who has travelled and taken time out of their lives to come and see the show only to be faced with a cancellation,” she said. She plans to return next year to reschedule the dates.
