Dolly Parton Estate Sues Nephew Over Violent Threats

Dolly Parton Estate Sues Nephew Over Violent Threats Music News
Less than a month after the country legend's death, her estate filed suit against her former head of security Bryan Seaver, alleging he made threats of violence to extort money.

Dolly Parton’s estate is suing the late singer’s nephew Bryan Seaver, who served as her head of security and announced her death on Instagram on August 25, over allegations of violent threats and extortion attempts.

The lawsuit, filed September 22 by She’s Alive LLC—a company established by Parton to manage her posthumous finances and run by her longtime manager Danny Nozell—alleges that Seaver has been making threats of violence in writing since Parton’s death to extract money from her estate. Screenshots of alleged messages are attached to court papers, including statements such as “I’m a killer” and “I’m literally an international arms dealer and mercenary.”

According to the filing, Seaver, who has a military background, was fired from his security position on September 16 due to this behavior. The estate is seeking a restraining order requiring Seaver to remain at least 1,000 feet away from all team members.

“Mr. Seaver has been relentless,” the lawsuit states. “These were not ordinary workplace disputes or heated words; they were deliberate threats from a self-proclaimed heavily armed, former security operative with a military-contractor background.” The filing notes that several staff members have resigned or are afraid to return to work due to safety concerns.

Seaver did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
