Bad Bunny has won his first Emmy for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, taking the outstanding variety special (live) category at the 2026 Emmy Awards.
“The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny” received nine nominations across multiple categories, making it the most-nominated Super Bowl halftime show in Emmy history. The show was nominated for outstanding variety special (live), production design, choreography, technical direction and camerawork, directing, hairstyling, and lighting design/lighting direction.
The performance featured superstar guests including Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, alongside a real-life wedding and appearances by authentic business owners, including Los Angeles’ Villa’s Tacos. Creative director Harriet Cuddeford said the show was “celebrating normal people, and what it is to be human and love and have joy, and really appreciate one another.” She added that it was meant to “celebrate normal people on the world’s biggest stage, especially people who are of importance in Latino culture.”
