A documentary tracking 2Pac’s murder trial is in development. Propagate Content and Passion Pictures have greenlit a true crime film following the conviction of Duane “Keffe D” Davis for orchestrating the shooting of the West Coast rap legend in September 1996.

Marian Mohamed will direct the feature documentary, which will take viewers inside the Las Vegas courthouse. The untitled work will feature contributions and interviews from Shakur’s inner circle and family members, including his brother Mopreme Shakur, as well as never-before-seen footage tied to the death of the Death Row icon. The documentary is slated to air in 2027 on Sky Documentaries and NOW.

Davis was arrested in 2023 after prosecutors unveiled an indictment claiming he orchestrated the attack on Shakur in response to Death Row and Bloods members jumping Davis’s nephew, Orlando Anderson, at a Mike Tyson fight on September 7, 1996. Shakur died six days after the drive-by shooting in Las Vegas at age 25.

Prosecutors called 24 witnesses during two weeks of trial in August before Davis was convicted of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon on August 31. Davis faces up to life in prison when sentenced on October 13.
