Rosie O’Donnell received a message of encouragement from Barbra Streisand during her guest-hosting stint on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week. Streisand wrote: “It’s good to see you back on TV! Welcome home! xxxx Barbra.”
O’Donnell shared a screenshot of the message via Instagram on Thursday, August 20, 2026. “Be still my heart — she is a class act — what a way to finish my week on Kimmel!!!” O’Donnell wrote alongside the post.
The two have a long history dating back to O’Donnell’s daytime talk show, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, which ran in the 1990s and early 2000s. Streisand appeared as a guest on the programme, an interview O’Donnell has previously described as significant.
O’Donnell guest-hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! from Monday through Thursday this week, while host Jimmy Kimmel took a break. Her week included appearances from Hannah Waddingham, Jean Smart, Richard Gadd, Charlie Day and Janelle James.
