Bruce Springsteen joined Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff on stage during the Shadow of the City Festival at Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, New Jersey on Friday, August 28, 2026, to perform two songs with Jersey roots.

The pair performed Tom Waits’ “Jersey Girl,” one of Springsteen’s most celebrated songs about New Jersey, though written by Waits for his 1980 album Heartattack and Vine. They also delivered a rendition of Bleachers’ “Chinatown,” from the band’s third studio album Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night. The pair last performed “Chinatown” together in 2020 during a live performance on the rooftop of Electric Lady Studios in New York City.

Antonoff reflected on the significance of performing in his hometown. “There’s nothing like playing in the place you wrote the songs from,” he said during the show. “There’s nothing like going through a lot, then being reunited with your people. It means the world.”
