Kevin Richardson of the Backstreet Boys and Snoop Dogg met at Sunday’s Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie red-carpet premiere, an encounter the Backstreet Boys’ social accounts called a long-awaited meeting between the two musicians who have been compared in viral memes since 2024.
The Backstreet Boys shared photos of the meeting on Tuesday (August 4) with the caption “It finally happened… iykyk,” referencing online comparisons suggesting Richardson resembles a “white Snoop Dogg.” Some fans noted the comparisons date back further, recalling that BSB members Nick Carter and Brian Littrell told Richardson he resembled Snoop when Richardson wore cornrow braids during the group’s Black & Blue Tour in 2001.
Richardson is currently performing with the Backstreet Boys at the Las Vegas Sphere through August 29. Snoop voices the character Dave in Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie, releasing August 16, while the Backstreet Boys recorded the song “Bottle Up” for the film.
Snoop is also the subject of a Universal Pictures biopic set for theatrical release on August 6, 2027.
