Ariana Grande Calls Eternal Sunshine Tour ‘Corrective Experience’

During an interview with Broadway star Jessica Vosk, Grande reflected on how her mindset has changed since her previous tour, emphasizing her increased presence and emotional connection with fans.

Ariana Grande described her Eternal Sunshine Tour as a “corrective experience” during a conversation with Broadway star Jessica Vosk for her Vosk in the City interview series.

“I think on my last tour I wasn’t necessarily in the same place in life, and I wasn’t able to be as present as I am this time,” Grande told Vosk. She emphasized that the Eternal Sunshine era has given her an opportunity to experience the songs and performances from an entirely different place, with the pop star highlighting how much she is enjoying being onstage and connecting with her fans.

Grande discussed the theatrical elements of her show, including Supernatural, the closing segment in which she is lifted above the stage to create the illusion of floating upward. “I like to get involved emotionally,” Grande explained, noting that her participation in the show’s theatrics helps her enjoy the tour. “I actually convince myself that I’m actually going somewhere.”

The singer said being physically involved in the tour’s theatrics has become an important part of her experience on the road, particularly because of the emotional connection she feels while performing. She also joked about a practical improvement from her previous tour: this time around, she is wearing contact lenses, meaning she can actually see the audience from the stage.

The interview took place during one of Grande’s stops at Barclays Center in New York. Her recently released album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
