Hayley Williams performed a headlining set billed as “Hayley Williams & Friends” at the 2026 Newport Folk Festival on Friday, July 24, at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island. The Paramore frontwoman’s 16-song setlist opened with the title track from her 2025 album Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party and closed with a group cover of Bill Withers’ Lean on Me.
Williams performed I Wanna Get Better with Jack Antonoff, the Bleachers frontman and guitarist, harmonizing on vocals. Antonoff also accompanied Williams on guitar for her song Good Ol Days from Ego Death. Lucy Dacus, a member of Boygenius, joined Williams to perform Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris live for the first time, a track from Williams’ 2020 album Petals for Armor on which Dacus originally sang background vocals. Dacus also performed her own set on the Fort Stage on Friday.
Jenny Lewis, the Rilo Kiley singer-songwriter, joined Williams to cover Silver Lining from Rilo Kiley’s 2007 album Under the Blacklight. Additional guest performers included Karly Hartzman, This Is Lorelei, Joy Oladokun, Liam Benzvi, Annie DiRusso, Kelsey Lu, Remi Wolf, Phoenix Rousiamanis and Madi Diaz.
Ms. Lauryn Hill headlined Friday night’s Newport Folk Festival schedule. The festival continues Saturday and Sunday with performances from The Lumineers, Nathaniel Rateliff, Brandi Carlile, Brandon Flowers and Tom Morello.
