Charli XCX shared her top five underrated films during an interview on the Lipps Service podcast with Scott Lipps.
The pop singer’s selections include Robert Altman’s Prêt-à-Porter, which she praised for its “incredible” cast and fashion focus. She also highlighted M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening as underrated, calling it “very fun.”
Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring made her list, with Charli noting it “gets better and better with age because it’s such a time capsule of that era.” Martin Scorsese’s Bringing Out the Dead, starring Nicolas Cage, rounded out her selections, with Charli describing Cage’s performance as “amazing.” David Lynch’s The Straight Story completed the top five, which Charli called “beautiful.”
Charli XCX releases her new album Music, Fashion, Film on Friday, July 24th. She commences her North American tour at the end of July, with dates including Lollapalooza (Chicago, July 31), Outside Lands (San Francisco, August 7), and arena shows in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Boston, Washington DC, Atlanta, San Diego, Los Angeles, Glendale, and Las Vegas through October.
